REDUCED SHANK DRILL

Sutton Tools D188-Series Reduced Shank Drill Bits are specifically engineered with a 12.5mm (1/2") or 13mm turned-down shank, allowing oversized drill bits to safely fit into standard 13mm drill chucks. Often referred to as blacksmith or jobber reduced bits, they enable large-scale boring without upgrading to commercial equipment

• Material: Manufactured from heavy-duty M2 High-Speed Steel (HSS) for optimum heat resistance and strength.
• Finish: Features a steam oxide (blue) surface finish to lower cutting friction and minimize chip build-up.
• Geometry: Built with a standard 118° point optimized for drilling into low-carbon steels, alloy steels, copper, brass, and plastics.
• Form Factor: Standardized across the range with a 152mm overall length and an 86mm flute length.
• Operation Profile: Must be run strictly at slow speeds—350 RPM or less—to maintain bit lifespan and prevent burning.
