The primary difference between standard Tee hinges and Scotch Tee hinges is their strength and durability, with Scotch Tee hinges being a heavier-duty version. Both feature the signature "T" shape, consisting of a long strap (or arm) that attaches to the door/gate and a shorter rectangular plate (or knuckle) that fixes to the post or frame.
Scotch Tee Hinges (Heavy-Duty)
